Hayden Christensen as Seifer Almasy.

I've been replaying Final Fantasy 8 recently and got inspired to do a series of live-action interpretations of some of the characters. I chose Hayden because of the physical similarities and because of the fact he's played a similar role before. There are a lot of parallels between the characters of Anakin Skywalker and Seifer Almasy.

I tried to capture not just his likeness but also his attitude. I spent a lot of time tweaking the body language to try and show Seifer's smugness, but at the same time you can sort of see a bit of self-doubt behind those eyes... that's something that was there in the original photograph that just happened to work for the character.

I'm thinking about doing Sorceress Edea next and I already have a good idea which actress I will be using. (Hint- A few years ago she starred in the first French film to win more than one Oscar.)

UPDATE--- April 7, 2012

Lightened up the picture for web viewing and painted in some lighting to help it match the lighting of the Edea image I am about to upload (better late than never, right?).

Did you draw everything (clothes, gunblade) except "Seifer's" face or is it photomanip?

well, at first i gotta say, that while i'm not a fan of this particular game (or the ones after it), as a matter of fact, it kinda makes my skin crawl and every time i play it i feel a little more dead inside (which is why i threw it out the window after the first playthrough), this manip is flawless, and the choice of Christensen as Seifer is the most perfect choice in the world for the character (from one whiny b**ch to another i guess :P). at least FF8 was better than the atrocity known as FF10 and the downright humilitation to intellegence that is FF13.
